Initial Setup Checklist

  1. Send the expert an intake form requesting their "brain dump" notes, target audience, and the ultimate transformation the course provides.
  2. Feed the raw notes into AI to group related topics into high-level Modules.
  3. Prompt the AI to break each Module down into specific, 10-minute Lessons.
  4. Manually review the progression: does Lesson 3 rely on knowledge taught in Lesson 4? If so, fix the order.
  5. Format the final outline cleanly and deliver it as a Google Doc.

PROMPT 1: Structure the Modules
Act as an instructional designer. I will provide raw notes for a course. Group these notes into logical modules that take a beginner from zero to competent in a chronological order. Only provide the Module Titles. Do not invent topics outside of my notes.
PROMPT 2: Flesh out the Lessons
For each Module Title generated above, provide 3 specific lessons. For each lesson, write one actionable learning objective starting with an action verb. Ensure the progression is logical and relies solely on the provided notes.

This is an illustrative finished example for educational purposes.
Module 1: Camera Hardware Basics Lesson 1.1: Understanding your gear. Objective: Identify the main physical components of a DSLR camera. Lesson 1.2: The Exposure Triangle. Objective: Explain how ISO, shutter speed, and aperture interact to capture light.

Common Mistakes

  • Using AI to invent the course content

    Impact: The course loses the expert's unique voice, and the expert realizes they could have just asked ChatGPT themselves.

    Correction: Strictly limit the AI to structuring the expert's provided knowledge. You are an organizer, not a ghostwriter.

  • Writing vague learning objectives

    Impact: The expert looks at the outline and still doesn't know what to talk about on camera.

    Correction: Never use the word "Understand" in an objective. Use action verbs: "List", "Demonstrate", "Calculate", or "Identify".

Practice Execution

  1. Write down 15 random bullet points about a hobby you know extremely well.
  2. Feed those bullet points into the AI prompts to generate an outline.
  3. Read the output manually. Did the AI introduce advanced concepts before basics?
  4. Fix any illogical chronological jumps manually.
  5. Format the outline clearly with bold headings in a Google Doc.
Supplementary Methodology & Evidence
Methodology & Evidence: AI models are highly proficient at clustering related semantic concepts (e.g., grouping all lighting topics together). However, human review is mandatory to ensure the pedagogical sequence makes sense to a human beginner.
