Common Mistakes

  • Building a generic 'Life Tracker'

    Impact: You will compete against thousands of free templates and make zero sales.

    Correction: Niche down until it hurts. Build 'The Real Estate Agent Open House Tracker' instead of a 'To-Do List'.

  • Leaving the template empty

    Impact: Buyers duplicate the template, see a blank page, get confused, and ask for a refund.

    Correction: Always include a toggle for 'Sample Data' so they see exactly how the system is supposed to look when full.

  • Thinking 'if I build it, they will come'

    Impact: Your Gumroad page sits at 0 views for months.

    Correction: Building the product is only 20% of the work. You must actively market it on Twitter, YouTube, or TikTok.
