AI Email Newsletters
Build Your Core Asset
Initial Setup Checklist
- Select a local business type that relies on repeat customers (like a gym or salon).
- Identify one specific tip they could teach and one specific offer they have.
- Use Prompt 1 to generate subject lines and the core structure of the email.
- Use Prompt 2 to draft the actual body copy in a friendly, energetic tone.
- Manually edit the output to ensure the email sounds like it was written by the local owner, not a corporate marketing department.
Action Prompts
PROMPT 1: Outline and Subject Lines
I am writing a weekly email newsletter for an independent neighborhood gym. The audience is current members. The goal is to provide a quick tip on 'how to avoid afternoon sugar crashes' and to announce the new Saturday 9 AM Yoga class. Generate 3 short, curiosity-driven subject lines (under 8 words). Then, outline the email structure: Opening, The Tip, The Transition, and The Call to Action.
PROMPT 2: Draft the Email Body
Using the outline you just created, draft the body of the email. Act as the friendly, energetic gym owner writing directly to a member. Keep the paragraphs very short (1-2 sentences). Do not use corporate jargon or words like 'moreover', 'delve', or 'embark'. Make the transition from the nutrition tip to the yoga class feel natural.
Finished Example
This is an illustrative finished example for educational purposes.
A Google Doc containing:
**Subject Options:**
1. Why you crash at 3 PM
2. The 3 PM sugar trap (and Saturday Yoga)
3. Stop doing this at lunch
**Email Body:**
Hi [First Name],
If you find yourself desperate for a coffee or a candy bar at 3 PM every day, you aren't alone.
Usually, it means your lunch lacked protein. Tomorrow, try adding 20g of protein to your midday meal and see how much more energy you have in the afternoon.
Speaking of energy, if you need a reset this weekend, our new Saturday Morning Yoga class kicks off at 9 AM.
It's perfect for beginners and a great way to stretch out those tight muscles.

See you in the gym,

Common Mistakes
- Writing boring subject lines
Impact: If the subject is 'August Gym Newsletter Vol 4', nobody will open it. If they don't open it, your writing doesn't matter.
Correction: Always use curiosity or specific benefits in the subject line (e.g., 'Why you crash at 3 PM').
- Making the email 100% sales pitch
Impact: Subscribers will unsubscribe immediately if every email just asks for money.
Correction: Follow the 80/20 rule: 80% helpful, interesting value (tips, stories) and 20% promotion.
- Writing huge paragraphs
Impact: People read emails on their phones while in line at the grocery store. Big blocks of text get skipped.
Correction: Keep every paragraph to a maximum of two sentences. Use lots of white space.
Failure Recovery Warning: Diagnostic guidelines for email copywriting.
Practice Execution
- Open your AI tool and run Prompt 1 to generate the subject lines and structure.
- Review the subject lines. If they sound like spam (e.g., 'AMAZING YOGA OFFER!!!'), ask the AI to try again with a more conversational tone.
- Run Prompt 2 to generate the body of the email.
- Paste the result into a Google Doc.
- The Human Edit: Read the email out loud. Does it sound like an email you would actually send to a friend? If not, rewrite the stiff parts.
- Ensure there is a clear, bracketed placeholder for the client's booking link.
Supplementary Methodology & Evidence
Methodology & Evidence: Prompting the AI in two stages (Subject/Structure first, Body second) is crucial. AI naturally wants to write long, formal essays. By forcing it to outline first and explicitly demanding short paragraphs in Prompt 2, you bypass its tendency to write corporate-sounding marketing spam.
